Michael Notias (Manhasset, N.Y.) scored a game-high 27 points to lead the Farmingdale State men's basketball team to a Skyline Conference road victory at St. Joseph's-Long Island on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Rams improved to 20-3 overall and 13-1 in conference play.
FSC trailed 10-9 just five minutes in before scoring 10 unanswered points to jump ahead, 19-10. Junior forward

Sean Conroy (Staten Island, N.Y.) scored three points apiece during the spurt.
With just under seven minutes to play in the first half, freshman guard
Conor Griffin (Whitestone, N.Y.) converted a layup and knocked down a 3-pointer on back-to-back possessions to extend the Rams' advantage to 31-17.
Farmingdale State took a 48-36 lead into the break as Notias had 15 first half points.
FSC pushed the advantage to 18, 65-47, with 13 minutes remaining in the second half, but the Golden Eagles (11-12, 7-7 Skyline) slowly chipped away at their deficit, trimming the margin to 81-73 with 3:09 to play.Â
St. Joseph's-Long Island made baskets on their next two possessions to make it a four-point game, but a 3-pointer from senior guard
Robbie Siechen (Syracuse, N.Y.) put the Rams up seven, 84-77, with 1:23 left.
SJLI responded with a 3-pointer and added two free-throws to cut the deficit to 84-82 with 19 seconds remaining. After a timeout, Notias was fouled and converted both free-throws, but the Golden Eagles tallied a layup to cut it two with six seconds remaining.Â
FSC made 3-of-4 free-throws in the final seconds as they held on for the 89-84 Skyline Conference victory.
Notias shot 9-for-16 from the field and made four 3-pointers in his 27-point effort. He also contributed seven assists, three rebounds and two steals. Siechen was 7-for-9 from the field for a career-high 19 points, to go with five rebounds and four assists. Evans produced a double-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds and a career-high five steals. Conroy ended with 11 points, six assists and five rebounds and sophomore forward
Jordan Tucker (Elmont, N.Y.) chipped in with 10 points off the bench in the win.
The Rams return home on Wednesday, February 18th when they host Skyline opponent Merchant Marine at 7:00 p.m. on Student Appreciation Night.
