Michael Notias (Manhasset, N.Y.) recorded a double-double with 19 points and 11 assists as the Farmingdale State College men's basketball team defeated Mount Saint Vincent, 99-70, on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Rams improved to 16-3 overall and 9-1 in Skyline Conference play.
FSC built an early advantage in the first half, shooting 22-for-33 from the field. The Rams were ahead 29-25 midway through before increasing the advantage to 14 following a 13-3 run.
Farmingdale State went into the halftime break ahead 56-39, recording 14 assists in the opening 20 minutes.
The Rams maintained control throughout the second half, opening with five straight points and extending their lead to 22 points.
The Dolphins (2-17, 1-9 Skyline) closed the gap to 15 with 11:54 to play before an 8-0 spurt allowed FSC to regain a 23-point advantage.
Farmingdale State led by as many as 32 down the stretch as they went on for the 99-70 Skyline Conference victory.
Notias shot 7-for-10 from the field for his 19 points, to go with a career-high 11 assists and six steals. His 11 assists tied for second-most in a single game in program history. Junior forward Liam Buckley (Manhasset, N.Y.) was a perfect 7-for-7 from the field and finished with 15 points, while senior guard Sean Conroy (Staten Island, N.Y.) registered 15 points and six rebounds. Forwards Jordan Tucker (Elmont, N.Y.) and Dylon Stanley (Lynbrook, N.Y.) tallied eight points apiece off the bench in the win.
As a team, Farmingdale State recorded a season-high 99 points and totaled 26 assists, tied for the fifth-most in a single game in program history.
The Rams will return home to host Sarah Lawrence College on Wednesday, February 4th, with tipoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
