Sarah Lawrence - 72, Farmingdale State - 63
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State women's basketball team fell to Sarah Lawrence College, 72–63, in Skyline Conference action on Thursday evening in Farmingdale, N.Y. With the loss, the Rams dropped to 7-8 overall and 5-5 in conference play.
The Gryphons (10-5, 7-3 Skyline) jumped out to an early advantage, leading 19-11 through eight minutes of play. FSC closed the first quarter with five unanswered points to close within four at 19-16, but Sarah Lawrence used a 27-point second quarter to extend its advantage to 46-30 at the halftime break.
The Gryphons held Farmingdale State to just one field goal in the third quarter, pushing their margin to 22 points heading into the final quarter.
The Rams outscored Sarah Lawrence 24-11 in the fourth, pulling to as close as eight points, but ultimately fell, 72-63.
Junior forward Samyah Allen (Queens Village, N.Y.) led the Rams with a game-high 20 points off the bench, adding three rebounds, two assists and two blocks. Senior guard Shyann Parker (Floral Park, N.Y.) finished with 13 points, eight rebounds and four assists, while sophomore guards Emily Tsiforas (Manhasset Hills, N.Y.) and Brianna Amenta (Oceanside, N.Y.) each added eight points. Senior forward Alexandria Walbroehl (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds and freshman Allison Ntambwe (Queens Village, N.Y.) contributed seven points, nine rebounds and four blocked shots in the loss.
Farmingdale State returns to action on Saturday, January 17th, when it hosts Mount Saint Vincent in Skyline Conference play at noon.
