EAST MEADOW, N.Y. |Â The final round of the Fourth Annual George Cangero Invitational was cancelled due to weather, making Saturday's opening round scores final. Farmingdale State placed third in the 11-team field with a total of 295 (+7), trailing only champion Swarthmore (288) and runner-up Adelphi (290).
Junior Luke O'Grady-Rodgers (Carmel, N.Y.) led the Rams with an even-par 72 to finish in a tie for fifth individually. Freshmen Philip Connolly (Garden City, N.Y.) and Mitchel Creamer (Mission Viejo, Calif.) each shot 73 (+1) to tie for 10th, while juniors Padruig Douglas (Northport, N.Y.) and CJ Merritt (Plainview, N.Y.) both carded 74 (+2) to tie for 13th.
The Rams return to action next weekend, competing at the Duke Nelson Invitational hosted by Middlebury College at Ralph Myhre Golf Course in Middlebury, Vt. Round one tees off on Saturday, September 13th, with round two set for Sunday, September 14th.
