EAST MEADOW, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State men's golf team sits in third place out of 11 teams at the Fourth Annual George Cangero Invitational, hosted at Eisenhower Park's White Course. The Rams posted a team score of 295 (+7)Â on Saturday before play was suspended due to weather and darkness. FSC trails only Swarthmore (288) and Adelphi (290), while Salisbury (+12) is in fourth and will complete its first round Sunday morning.
Junior
Luke O'Grady-Rodgers (Carmel, N.Y.) led FSC with an even-par 72 on day one and is in a tie for fourth place individually. Freshman
Mitchel Creamer (Mission Viejo, CA) carded a 73 (+1) and is in 10th place, while junior
Padruig Douglas (Northport, N.Y.) followed with a 74 (+2) and is in a tie for 13th.
Sophomore
Rishi Talwar (East Farmingdale, N.Y.) recorded a 76 (+4) and freshman
Luke Grebinar (Leominster, MA) rounded out the scoring with a 77 (+5).
FSC also fielded a B team, led by freshman
Philip Connolly (Garden City, N.Y.), who shot a 73 (+1). Junior
CJ Merritt (Plainview, N.Y.) added a 74 (+2) and senior
James Quinlan (Poughquag, N.Y.) finished with an 80 (+8).
Swarthmore's Chi Yeung Michael Yuen leads the 61-player field with a six-under-par round of 66 on Saturday.
The three remaining groups will conclude round one at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, followed by round two beginning at 11:00 a.m.
