FSC shot 28-of-34 on free throws against the Garnet (5-4), and registered 38 points in the paint on the evening.
The teams traded the lead over the first 12 minutes of the game, before Farmingdale State embarked on a 15-0 run over a 2:49 stretch, with Conroy's 3-pointer at the 4:38 mark giving the hosts a 32-21 lead. The Garnet came out of the locker room with a 17-6 spurt over the course of the first 5-plus minutes, slicing their deficit to 47-44 with 14:19 remaining. After FSC pushed back in front by a 59-48 count on a lay-in by Conroy halfway through the period, Swarthmore cut the score to 70-64 with 6:15 on the clock. Sophomore
James Notias (Manhasset, N.Y.) and Conroy then hit layups on consecutive possessions, and the Rams defense did not let the visitors any closer than a seven-point margin the rest of the way. Farmingdale State iced the game by converting 9-of-10 shots at the charity stripe to seal the win.
Skyline Conference play gets underway for the Rams on Saturday, when it travels to SUNY Old Westbury for a noontime tip-off to round out competition in the 2025 calendar year.
