FSC Athletics Update - November 3

NEW YORK | The week ahead in Farmingdale State College athletics sees the start of the men's and women's basketball seasons, the men's soccer team continuing play in the Skyline Conference Championship, and the women's volleyball program rounding out regular-season play in preparation for its conference tournament.

Men's Soccer (6-8-4)

The Rams received late-match heroics Wednesday night in a must-win regular-season finale against Maritime College, as freshman attacker Josue Granados's (Brentwood, N.Y.) score with 45.1 seconds left propelled his team to a 2-1 victory and a berth in the Skyline Conference Championship. Fifth-seeded FSC then came back from an early 2-0 deficit to capture a 3-2, overtime triumph in first-round play at defending-champion Manhattanville University. Senior winger Tyree Baskin Jr. (Freeport, N.Y.) headed home the golden goal in the 97th minute of action off a left-side cross from freshman midfielder Josue Corea (Wyandanch, N.Y.).

Granados was selected Friday as the Skyline Conference's Rookie of the Year, and was joined on the All-Skyline second team by classmate and right fullback Jayson Veliz Perez (Riverhead, N.Y).

Next up for Farmingdale State in the conference championship is Wednesday night's 7:30 p.m. semifinal at top-seeded and undefeated University of Mount Saint Vincent (tickets are available here). The championship final on Saturday will pit Wednesday's two semifinal winners, at the site of the highest-remaining seed.

Volleyball (15-8, 7-3 Skyline) | Skyline Report

FSC went on the road for a pair of Skyline victories, earning a three-set sweep Thursday night at Maritime before collecting a 3-1 decision Saturday at St. Joseph's-Brooklyn.

The Rams finish regular-season play Wednesday night at 7 versus Yeshiva University. A victory over the Maccabees would give Farmingdale State a first-round home match to start Skyline Conference Championship play next Tuesday (Nov. 11).

Men's Basketball

Farmingdale State takes to the court Monday night in an exhibition game at Division I foe Stony Brook University, with tip-off slated for 6:31 p.m. The Rams' first regular-season tilt will take place on the road next Tuesday (Nov. 11) at 7 p.m., at New Jersey City University.

Women's Basketball

FSC will lift the lid on its 2025-26 campaign at home on Saturday, when it welcomes CCNY for a noontime start.

Women's Soccer (8-10-3)

FSC wrapped up regular-season action Wednesday with a 9-0 shutout at conference foe Maritime, before coming up just short in the opening round of the Skyline championship Saturday versus Mount Saint Mary, 2-1.

Four student-athletes received All-Skyline Conference honors on Friday, including four-time first-team recipient and attacker Alyse Rivera (Sr.; Manhattan, N.Y.), and second-team honorees Abigail Borra (Sr.; Syosset, N.Y.), Abigail Chest (So.; Johnstown, N.Y.) and Hailey Stork (Sr.; Bellmore, N.Y.).
