NEW YORK | The Skyline Conference released its fall weekly reports Monday afternoon, and five student-athletes from Farmingdale State took home weekly awards.
Volleyball (8-6, 1-2 Skyline) | Skyline Report
Farmingdale State went 1-1 in two Skyline matches last week. The Rams fell to St. Joseph's-Long Island, 3-0, before bouncing back with a 3-0 sweep at Old Westbury.
FSC took home two weekly awards as senior setter
Sarah Rende (Wantagh, N.Y.) was named the Player of the Week and freshman middle blocker
Alana Henry (Amityville, N.Y.) claimed Rookie of the Week praise. In addition, senior
Delaney Keegan (Lake Grove, N.Y.) earned a spot on the Honor Roll.
Rende orchestrated the attack with 8.8 assists, 1.7 kills, and 0.8 aces per set while hitting an impressive .588. She was a perfect 7-for-7 on attacks at Old Westbury while dishing out 34 assists and landing four service aces.
Henry averaged 3.0 points and 2.8 kills per set while hitting .205 on the week. She tallied eight kills against St. Joseph's-Long Island before posting nine kills on a .462 hitting percentage with two block assists in the sweep of Old Westbury.
Keegan averaged 4.0 digs per set with a .976 reception percentage, including 15 digs and five aces across the two Skyline matches.
This week, the volleyball team will play two home matches: Wednesday vs. Sarah Lawrence at 6:00 p.m. and Friday vs. King's at 6:00 p.m.

Skyline Report
For the second straight week, FSC swept the men's golf weekly awards. Junior
CJ Merritt (Plainview, N.Y.) earned Player of the Week honors, while freshman
Philip Connolly (Garden City, N.Y.) was tabbed the Rookie of the Week.
Merritt shot a 2-over-par 73 on Sunday during the first day of the RPI Invitational at Shaker Ridge Country Club, placing him in a sixth-place tie out of 80 golfers. Merritt went on for a fifth-place finish in the two-day event.
Connolly claimed Rookie honors for the third consecutive week after a shooting 76 (+5) on Sunday, helping the Rams to a fifth-place standing in the competitive 14-team field.
The men's golf team has a week off and will next compete at the 36-hole Adelphi Invitational at Meadow Brook Club on Thursday, October 16th.
Women's Tennis (4-4, 2-0 Skyline) | Skyline Report
Farmingdale State picked up a pair of wins last week, including a 5-2 Skyline victory at St. Joseph's-Long Island on Saturday.
Freshman
Martine McGowan (Port Washington, N.Y.) was named the Conference's Rookie of the Week for the third time this season after going 4-0 on the week. At No. 2 singles and doubles, she earned straight-set victories against both Baruch and St. Joe's, including a super tiebreaker win (10-5) over the Golden Eagles' Allison Goodyear.
The Rams continue conference play this week as they host Manhattanville on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. before traveling to Mount Saint Vincent on Saturday at 4 p.m. FSC will close the week with a home Skyline match vs. Sarah Lawrence on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Men's Soccer (2-5-3, 1-1-3 Skyline) | Skyline Report
The Rams went 1-1-1 in three Skyline Conference matches last week, tying with Yeshiva (4-4), defeating Old Westbury (3-2) and losing to Mount Saint Vincent (3-0).
This week, Farmingdale State will travel to Purchase College on Tuesday evening for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff before hosting St. Joseph's-Long Island on Saturday at noon.
Women's Soccer (4-8-1, 3-1 Skyline) | Skyline Report
The women's soccer team split a pair of Skyline matches last week, cruising to a 5-0 win at Old Westbury before falling to Mount Saint Vincent in a rematch of last year's conference final.
The Rams will host a pair of conference games this week: Tuesday vs. Purchase at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday vs. St. Joseph's-Long Island at 2:30 p.m.
Cross Country
Following their week off, the FSC cross country teams will compete at the NJIT XC Invitational on Saturday, October 11th in Newark, N.J.
