PEOPLE'S ARC OF SUFFOLK VIDEO
HOLBROOK, N.Y. | Farmingdale State College Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Sean Chamberlain was honored at the 2026 Candlelight Ball, hosted by
People's Arc of Suffolk on Thursday, October 15, in recognition of more than 20 years of community service and dedication to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Held at Villa Lombardi's, the annual fundraising event welcomed more than 500 guests and raised over $250,000 to support the organization's programs and services. Chamberlain was honored alongside New York State Senator Monica Martinez, who was recognized for her advocacy and support of the organization.
Chamberlain has led men's lacrosse teams on visits to the People's Arc of Suffolk for more than two decades, dating back to his time playing at Stony Brook University. His FSC team participates in an annual holiday toy drive for the children at the Educare Center, with team members purchasing, wrapping and delivering toys to the students.
"People's Arc of Suffolk is a really special place. We've been coming there a long time and really love the people there," Chamberlain said. "Just like a lacrosse team, it brings together a group of people to accomplish a common goal."
Farmingdale State student-athletes volunteered at the event, helping People's Arc achieve a record-breaking fundraising total.
Proceeds from the Candlelight Ball benefit People's Arc of Suffolk's programs in employment, education, arts, recreation and community living for individuals with disabilities throughout Suffolk County.
Chamberlain's recognition celebrates his longstanding commitment to People's Arc of Suffolk and the Farmingdale State men's lacrosse program's continued dedication to community service.
