Farmingdale State 73, Old Westbury 22
OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. | Three freshmen scored in double figures Tuesday night to lift the Farmingdale State College women's basketball team to a 73-22, Skyline Conference victory at SUNY Old Westbury.

First-year performers Julia Koprowski (Sound Beach, N.Y.), Brianna Amenta (Oceanside, N.Y.) and Emily Tsiforas (Manhasset Hills, N.Y.) all scored 10-plus points for the Rams (10-5, 7-3 Skyline), with Koprowski leading all players with a career-high 13 on 6-of-10 shooting. Amenta checked in with 11 points, while Tsiforas notched 10 points, a season-best six steals and as many rebounds.

All 12 FSC players who took the floor versus the Panthers (0-14, 0-9) broke into the scoring column, as senior point guard Erin Conte (Melville, N.Y.) netted eight points, with Gemma Pohalski (Sr.; Huntington, N.Y.) and Olivia Hoffman (Fr.; Calgary, Alberta) adding six apiece. Junior guard Shyann Parker (Floral Park, N.Y.) filled the stat sheet in her second-consecutive start, registering eight rebounds, a season-high six assists and five steals.

Farmingdale State jumped out to a 25-5 lead by the end of the first quarter, and held a 41-10 edge at halftime en route to the Rams' eighth win over their last 10 contests.

FSC is back in Skyline action at home on Saturday (Jan. 18), when it welcomes Manhattanville University for a noontime tip.
