Baseball Rolls Past Lehman in Non-Conference Contest

Farmingdale State - 20, Lehman - 4 (7 inn.)
BRONX, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College baseball team racked up 19 hits Wednesday afternoon, as it defeated host Lehman College in a mercy-rule-shortened, 20-4 victory.

The Rams (10-9) led 2-1 in the third inning and extended their lead to 4-1 on an RBI single by senior third baseman Tyler DiRocco (Commack, N.Y.) and a wild pitch.

In the fourth inning, FSC put up four runs, capped off by a two-run home run to right field by senior first baseman Jordan Lambert (Plainview, N.Y.).

After Lehman (0-14) cut the deficit to 8-3 in the bottom half of the inning, Farmingdale State responded with six runs in the fifth to take a commanding 14-3 advantage. Chris McGuggart (Bethpage, N.Y.), Bobby Pollock (Manorville, N.Y.), DiRocco, Lambert and Elian Pimentel (Huntington Station, N.Y.) (x2) each recorded RBI's in the inning.

The Rams added five runs in the sixth and one more in the seventh to round out their offensive display.

DiRocco finished 4-for-5 with a double, four runs scored and four runs batted in, while Lambert tallied four hits, a home run, double, four RBI's and two runs scored. Pollock was 3-for-4 with a triple and three runs scored and sophomore right fielder Richie Heyder (Holbrook, N.Y.) tallied two hits, an RBI and two runs scored. McGuggart and Pimentel added two RBI's in the win.

On the mound, sophomore Tyler Kregeloh (Plainedge, N.Y.) earned the win after tossing four innings with two strike outs and just one earned run allowed.

The Rams next travel to Mount Saint Mary College for a Skyline Conference doubleheader on Saturday (April 13) at noon.
