BASEBALL SCHEDULE/RESULTS
DAVENPORT, FL | The Farmingdale State baseball team played their final game in Florida on Wednesday evening against Gwynedd-Mercy University and earned a 6-5 victory.
Wednesday, March 13
The Griffins struck first with a two-run double in the top of the first inning to jump in front, 2-0.
FSC evened the score in the bottom of the second as senior first baseman
Jordan Lambert (Plainview, N.Y.) and senior designated hitter
Daniel Deutsch (Northport, N.Y.) hit back-to-back singles before moving up on a wild pitch. Junior shortstop
Patrick Dallas (Patchogue, N.Y.) then hit an RBI ground out before sophomore second baseman
Ryan Wasserman (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) drove in a run on a single to right field to knot the game at 2-2.
After Farmingdale State sophomore
Tyler Kregeloh (Plainedge, N.Y.) pitched a scoreless top of the third, senior center fielder
Bobby Pollock (Manorville, N.Y.) hit a leadoff homer in the bottom of the inning to put the Rams in front, 3-2.
Later in the third, Lambert singled home sophomore right fielder
Richie Heyder (Holbrook, N.Y.) before scoring on a Deutsch sacrifice fly to give Farmingdale State a 5-2 advantage.
In the fifth, a pair of two-out doubles allowed Gwynedd-Mercy to close within two, 5-3, but FSC responded with a run in the bottom of the inning to regain the three-run advantage.

Tyler DiRocco (Commack, N.Y.) recorded a one-out triple in the sixth, but the Griffins forced a ground out and a strike out to keep the game at 6-3.
Gwynedd-Mercy closed the gap to just one in the seventh after a pair of RBI singles made it 6-5. Senior pitcher
Daniel Molina (East Meadow, N.Y.) stranded runners on second and third to maintain the FSC lead.
The Rams were still up by one heading into the eighth inning and DiRocco moved to the mound to pitch. He struck out two batters in the eighth and two more in the ninth to close the game and secure the 6-5 victory for Farmingdale State.
Lambert finished two hits, a walk, two runs scored and an RBI, while Wasserman and DiRocco had two hits apiece. Pollock recorded a home run and a walk and Heyder produced one hit, a walk, two runs scored and two stolen bases.
Kregeloh earned his first win of the season with five innings pitched, five strike outs and just two earned runs.
The FSC baseball team will now return home and next play host to SUNY Plattsburgh on Sunday, March 17th at 12:00 p.m.
