FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State women's basketball team hosted Skyline opponent Mount Saint Mary College on Saturday afternoon and fell by a score of 87-50. The Rams dropped to 7-8 in conference play, while the Knights improved to 13-2.

MSMCÂ (14-6) still led by three, 11-8, with 1:26 on the clock but used a layup and 3-pointer to increase their advantage to eight.
The Knights took a 16-10 lead into the second quarter and hit five 3's en route to a 29-point frame to take a commanding 45-23 edge into the halftime break.
Farmingdale State was still down 22, 54-32, with 3:30 to play in the third before a 7-2 run, capped off by a
Victoria Kantzian (Staten Island, N.Y.) three-point play allowed them to close within 17.
FSC trailed 60-40 at the start of the fourth quarter and opened with a layup by senior forward
Layla Mendoza (Westhampton Beach, N.Y.).
Mount Saint Mary responded with 12 unanswered points to take 72-42 advantage.
The Rams were held to just eight points down the stretch as they fell, 87-50.
Mendoza finished with 11 points, three rebounds and a season-high four steals, while freshman forward
Taneece Wooden (Freeport, N.Y.) recorded 10 points and nine rebounds. Simmons tallied 10 points, six rebounds and two steals and junior guard
Gemma Pohalski (Huntington, N.Y.) notched six points, six rebounds and three assists. Kantzian added six points off the bench.
The Rams will next head on the road to play St. Joseph's-Long Island on Tuesday, February 6th at 7:00 p.m.
