FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State women's basketball team trailed by four, 37-33, and outscored Yeshiva University, 16-4, in the fourth quarter en route to a 49-41 come-from-behind Skyline victory on Tuesday evening. With the win, FSC improved 6-4 overall and 4-2 in conference play.

The Rams trailed 9-7 early before the Maccabees (0-9, 0-6 Skyline) rattled off three consecutive layups to close the first quarter and jump ahead, 15-7.

Each team scored 11 points in the second quarter as Yeshiva led 26-18 at the halftime break.

FSC opened the third quarter with a jumper by freshman guard Emily Tsiforas (Manhasset Hills, N.Y.) and a 3-pointer by classmate Brianna Amenta (Oceanside, N.Y.) to quickly cut the deficit to 26-23.

Yeshiva regained a seven-point edge at 37-30 before a free-throw and layup allowed the Rams to close within four heading into the fourth.

FSC senior Gemma Pohalski (Huntington, N.Y.) and junior Shyann Parker (Floral Park, N.Y.) knotted the score at 37-37 with layups in the opening minute of the fourth quarter.

After a YU layup, baskets from Parker and senior guard Isabella Greenwald (West Islip, N.Y.) gave Farmingdale State the lead, 41-39.

The Rams extended the advantage to five, 44-39, behind three points from sophomore forward Taneece Wooden (Freeport, N.Y.) before the Maccabees tallied their final bucket of the game with 3:09 remaining.

Wooden tallied four more points down the stretch as Farmingdale State went on for the 49-41 Skyline Conference victory.

FSC had 11 players tally a point with Wooden leading the way with 10. Pohalski produced six points, six rebounds and two blocks and Parker recorded six points and five rebounds off the bench. Amenta and Tsiforas registered six points apiece, while freshman guard Olivia Hoffman (Calgary, Alberta) chipped in with three points. Sophomore guard Anayah Lloyd (Freeport, N.Y.) held a +11 plus-minus in 14 minutes of action and tallied three rebounds, three steals, two blocked shots and two assists.

The women's basketball team will next travel Manhattanville University for a Skyline game on Saturday, December 14th at 1 p.m.
