FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State women's basketball team defeated Yeshiva University, 74-51, to pick up their third consecutive victory on Thursday evening in Farmingdale, N.Y. With the win, the Rams improved to 6-7 in the Skyline, moving ahead of the Maccabees and Sarah Lawrence for sixth place in the conference standings.Â
FSC (8-10) led 16-10 after a low-scoring first quarter and opened the second with back-to-back 3-pointers by senior guard

Julia Dessart (Smithtown, N.Y.) knocked down a 3 and senior forward
Layla Mendoza (Westhampton Beach, N.Y.) tallied a pair of layups to go up, 29-12, with five minutes on the clock.
The Rams held a 29-17 advantage with 2:48 to play in the half before Pohalski and freshman forward
Taneece Wooden (Freeport, N.Y.) assisted each other on 3-pointers to take a 35-17 advantage. Wooden followed with a layup to give FSC a commanding 20-point lead at 37-17.
FSC led 40-21 at the break with Pohalski and Wooden tallying a trio of 3-pointers apiece in the first 20 minutes.
Farmingdale State increased their advantage to 22, outscoring the Maccabees, 5-2, in the first four minutes of the third quarter.
Yeshiva responded with a 17-10 run the remainder of the quarter to cut their deficit to 15 at 55-40.
The Rams were up 61-45 with six minutes remaining and scored 10 consecutive points, including five from sophomore guard
Victoria Kantzian (Staten Island, N.Y.), to take their largest lead of the game at 71-45.Â
FSC held Yeshiva to just six points down the stretch as they earned the 74-51 Skyline victory.
Mendoza led Farmingdale State with 16 points, to go along with six rebounds and two steals. Kantazian recorded 15 points and two rebounds off the bench, while Wooden finished with 13 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Pohalski had 11 points, five rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block. Junior guard
Gemma Pohalski (Huntington, N.Y.) also filled the stat sheet with seven points, seven rebounds, seven assists, two steals and one block. She had a game-high +27 plus-minus.Â
As a team, FSC knocked down 13 3-pointers and tied for ninth on the all-time list for most 3's made in one game.
The women's basketball team will next play host to Skyline opponent Old Westbury on Tuesday, January 30th at 6:00 p.m.
