PALISADES PARK, N.J. | The Farmingdale State College baseball team moved to 7-5 in Skyline Conference play on Tuesday afternoon, as the Rams (15-12) swept a road make-up doubleheader against host Yeshiva University. FSC took game one by an 18-1 score, before securing a 27-0 shutout in a seven-inning nightcap.

Game 1

Senior catcher Brad Sakellarides (E. Moriches, N.Y.) went 3-for-3 at the dish with three triples, two walks, four RBI and five runs scored to lead the visitors, with senior infielder Nolan White (Miller Place, N.Y.) driving in three while reaching base safely four times. Junior Daniel Deutsch (Northport, N.Y.) added two RBI, three runs scored and a triple for the Farmingdale State offense.

A six-run first inning set the tone for the day for the Rams, including a RBI three-bagger by Sakellarides to drive in junior Jordan Lambert (Plainview, N.Y.). FSC scored in each of the last five innings, including a three-run fourth that included one RBI each by Lambert, Sakellarides and White, and a four-run seventh frame.

Five Farmingdale State pitchers combined on a five-hitter with 16 strikeouts, with junior starter Daniel Molina (E. Meadow, N.Y.) picking up the victory with three innings of six-strikeout ball.

Game 2

The visitors scored in all seven innings, including eight runs apiece in the third and sixth stanzas, to take full control early and often.

Freshman Justin Rindner (E. Meadow, N.Y.) led a quartet of Rams to collect three hits apiece, scoring five runs and driving in two in the process. Other three-hit displays were turned in by Lambert (2 2B, 2 R, 3 RBI), junior Kyle Dorset (Freeport, N.Y.; 3-for-4, 3 BB, 4 R) and freshman Nick Pompei (Manorville, N.Y.; 2 2B, 3 R, 2 RBI). Sophomore Ayden Pitt (Floral Park, N.Y.) drove in a game-high five runs for Farmingdale State, which used three pitchers that combined to face five over the minimum with three hits and two walks conceded while fanning 12 Maccabees (0-23, 0-12). Deutsch earned the win on the bump, tossing the first three frames while scattering two hits and punching out five.

Head coach Keith Osik's FSC squad is back at home to continue Skyline play on Saturday, when it plays host to St. Joseph's-Brooklyn in a noon twinbill.
