NEWBURGH, N.Y. | The FSC women's tennis team traveled to Mount Saint Mary College for a Skyline Conference match on Sunday afternoon and picked up a 9-0 shutout victory. Farmingdale State improved to 7-2 overall and a perfect 3-0 in conference play, while the Knights dropped to 0-7, 0-4.
The Rams rolled through doubles play as junior
Lien Collings (Merrick, N.Y.) and sophomoreÂ
MacKenzie Gisler (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.)Â won 8-3 in the first slot.
At #2 doubles, sophomore
Amanda Jones (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) and freshman
Natalia Furchel (Manorville, N.Y.)Â earned a 8-0 win, while sophomore's
Gabriella Loria (Levittown, N.Y.) and
Mikayla DeMaria (West Babylon, N.Y.) took third doubles by the same score, 8-0.
In singles play, Collings (6-1, 6-0), Furchel (6-0, 6-1), Jones (6-0, 6-0), Loria (6-0, 6-1), DeMaria (6-3, 6-3) and sophomore
Heather McGullam (Hauppauge, N.Y.) (6-1, 6-0) all won in straight sets, losing just 10 games combined, as Farmingdale State earned the 9-0 victory.
The women's tennis team will next host Sarah Lawrence for a Skyline match tomorrow, Monday, October 9th at 6:00 p.m.
