PURCHASE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College women's tennis team saw its fall season come to an end Saturday afternoon in the title match of the 2026 Skyline Conference Championship, as the second-seeded Rams dropped a 4-0 decision at top-seeded Manhattanville University.Â
The host Valiants (10-1) earned the Skyline's automatic bid to the 2027 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship in May with their victory. Â
After falling in the third-flight doubles match to start the competition, the Rams (11-7) received a 6-4 victory in the No. 2 slot from sophomore
Kaelin Burnett (East Islip, N.Y.) and freshman
Emma Johannsen (Verplanck, N.Y.). FSC's top-flight duo of seniors
Natalia Furchel (Manorville, N.Y.) and
Gabriella Loria (Levittown, N.Y.) rallied from a 5-1 deficit to level their match-up at 5-5, before their Manhattanville counterparts won the next two games to secure the team point entering singles play.Â
The Valiants closed out the title by earning straight-set victories in the fourth, second and sixth positions, as Loria sat just two points away from a two-set victory of her own in the No. 3 match when the event concluded.Â
