Farmingdale State - 8, William Paterson - 1

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team evened their overall record to 1-1 with an 8-1 victory over William Paterson on Saturday afternoon.

The Rams shutout the Pioneers in doubles play to take a 3-0 advantage, before winning five-of-six in singles en route to the non-conference win.

In doubles action, junior's Priscilla Signore (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Tatiana Rosamilia (Malverne, N.Y.) posted an 8-6 victory in the first position. Junior Michelle Fredericks (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and senior Denise Liguori (Massapequa, N.Y.) won 8-2, while freshman Carolann La Monica (Islip, N.Y.) and sophomore Madison Schrader (East Islip, N.Y.) paired for an 8-4 victory.

In singles play, Farmingdale State won in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th positions.

The Rams will now host Hunter College in a non-conference match on Wednesday, September 9th at 4:30 p.m.
