Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

Game 1: Mount Saint Vincent - 5, Farmingdale State - 4

Game 2: Farmingdale State - 10, Mount Saint Vincent - 1 (5-innings)

Purchase, N.Y. - After a 5-4 loss in game one, the Farmingdale State softball team bounced back with a 10-1 five-inning victory in game two to split their conference doubleheader with Mount Saint Vincent today.

Trailing 4-0 after five innings, the Rams (10-8, 3-1) got the bats going in the sixth started by an inning-opening single from senior right fielder Marissa Monaco (Bohemia, N.Y.). Sophomore second baseman Brittany Ciaramitaro (Levittown, N.Y.) moved Monaco over to second with a one-out sacrifice bunt, before a double down the left field line from junior designated hitter Meghan Acton (Levittown, N.Y.) scored Monaco to make it 4-1.

In the top of the seventh, senior left fielder Sam Johrden (Deer Park, N.Y.) led off with a double to left, followed by a single from junior catcher Meagan Anderson (Patchogue, N.Y.). Senior center fielder Michelle Mongiello (Elmont, N.Y.) knocked in the first run of the inning with a single through the left side, while the game-tying RBI's came from sophomore first baseman Lori Michalowski (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) to score Anderson and Mongiello and tie the game at 4-4.

The Dolphins would score in the bottom of the seventh off two hits, a walk and a fielder's choice, taking the 5-4 win.

In game two, Farmingdale State needed just 13 hits to take the 10-1 run-rule win. Sophomore third baseman Andrea Klarman (Medford, N.Y.) went 2-for-3 with a homerun, three RBI's and three runs scored. Monaco tacked on three more hits for the day, while Anderson added two hits and three runs scored. Senior pitcher Taylor Tedeschi (Levittown, N.Y.) allowed just four hits and no earned runs with two strikeouts.

The Rams will host Old Westbury tomorrow (Sunday, April 12th) in a Skyline doubleheader at Noon. The game will feature a Senior Day ceremony for our five seniors: Johrden, Monaco, Mongiello, Tedeschi and Taylor Webb (West Babylon, N.Y.).
