Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's soccer team defeated Skidmore College today, 1-0, in a non-conference game. The Rams improved to 8-5-2 with the win, while the Thoroughbreds now stand at 5-7-1 on the season.

Today's game featured Senior Day for seven players, including Breanna Blair (Littleton, Colo.), Melissa Lijo* (Flushing, N.Y.), Ashlee Thompson (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.), Andrea Kiefer* (Centereach, N.Y.), Ashley Guerrero (East Meadow, N.Y.), Brianne Borthwick (West Babylon, N.Y.) and Meghan Cleary (East Meadow, N.Y.).

After a scoreless first half with both teams taking five shots, the lone goal of the game came in the 64th minute when a ball deflected off a Skidmore defender to give Farmingdale State the 1-0 lead and eventual win.

Skidmore finished the game with an 11-9 shot advantage and 5-2 advantage on corner kick opportunities. Blair got the win for Farmingdale State, making five saves for her 36th career victory.

Farmingdale State will now host Maritime College on Tuesday, October 20th at 4:30 p.m.
