Merlos Named to Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | College Sports Communicators released its 2025 edition of the Academic All-District Women's Soccer Teams Tuesday afternoon, and Farmingdale State College junior midfielder Esmeralda Merlos (Farmingville, N.Y.) was tabbed on the organization's Division III listing.

Merlos played in the midfield in 19 of the Rams' 21 contests this fall, logging 806 minutes along the way. On the season, the Bioscience major took eight shots, placing four on target. Merlos has now played in 48 games across her three-year FSC career, registering 1,630 minutes and notching two assists.

The 2025 Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
