Farmingdale State - 9, Purchase - 0

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team defeated Purchase, 9-0, this afternoon and improved to 10-2 on the year and a perfect 6-0 in Skyline Conference play. Senior Denise Liguori (Massapequa, N.Y.) was honored before the match for senior day.

In doubles competition, Liguori teamed with junior Priscilla Signore (Staten Island, N.Y.) and the two recorded an 8-1 victory in the #1 position. At second doubles, juniors Michelle Fredericks (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and Tatiana Rosamilia (Malverne, N.Y.) won 8-4, while sophomore Madison Schrader (East Islip, N.Y.) and freshman Carolann La Monica (Islip, N.Y.) picked up an 8-3 victory in the third position.

Farmingdale State swept singles play as Signore (6-0, 6-3), Rosamilia (6-0, 6-0), Fredericks (6-1, 6-2), Liguori (6-1, 6-0), Schrader (6-0, 6-1) and La Monica (6-1, 6-4) all recorded wins.

With the victory over Purchase, FSC has clinched the #1 seed and home court advantage for the Skyline Conference playoffs.

The Rams next will host St. Joseph's-Brooklyn to close out the regular season on Saturday, October 17th at 3:00 p.m.
