Farmingdale, N.Y. - After the Rams won game one, St. Joseph's responded with an 8-0 victory in the second game to split the Skyline Conference doubleheader this afternoon in Farmingdale, N.Y. Farmingdale State now holds a 6-8 overall record and are 3-1 in Skyline play.

In the bottom of the first, leadoff hitter Meagan Anderson (Patchogue, N.Y.) hit a home run to left field on the first pitch she saw to put the Rams ahead 1-0. Farmingdale State increased the lead to 2-0 after scoring an unearned run in the second inning.

In the third inning, freshman left fielder Meghan Acton (Levittown, N.Y.) gave the Rams a 3-0 lead as she hit a two-out RBI single which scored senior third baseman Kristen Flint (Brentwood, N.Y.).

Sophomore pitcher Taylor Tedeschi (Levittown, N.Y.) held the Golden Eagles (8-4, 3-1) scoreless the rest of the way as the Rams earned a 3-0 victory in game one. Tedeschi (4-3) threw a complete game shutout allowing seven hits and striking out four.

Senior first baseman Jennifer Jarczynski (West Babylon, N.Y.) was 2-for-3 at the plate, while sophomore designated hitter Marissa Brightman (Bay Shore, N.Y.) was 1-for-3 with a run scored for the Rams.

In game two, St. Joe's scored a run in the first inning and increased their lead to 4-0 in the third on a two run home run by sophomore center fielder Julianne Tierney (Bethpage, N.Y.).

The Golden Eagles added another run in the fourth and three in the fifth to take the second game 8-0.

Senior pitcher Julia De Carmine (Holtsville, N.Y.) improved to 4-1 on the season after allowing only two hits in five innings pitched.

Farmingdale State next will host Staten Island in a non-conference doubleheader on Monday, March 25th at 3:30 p.m.
