Newburgh, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State women's tennis team, in their first-ever Skyline Finals appearance, fell 5-0 on the road at top-seeded Mount Saint Mary College. The Rams finish the season with a 9-5 overall record.
The Knights (12-0) picked up an 8-3 victory over freshmen Jessica Sickles (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) and Alex Bentz (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) in first doubles. In both #2 and #3 doubles, Farmingdale State fell by a score of 8-1.
In singles action, the clinching point came from Mount Saint Mary freshman Breanna Scott (Highland Falls, N.Y.) as she posted a 6-2, 6-3 win in the fifth position.
Knights freshman Morgan Holbrook (Montgomery, N.Y.) had four victories in the teams two postseason matches and was named the Skyline Tournament's Most Valuable Player.
