Box Score Farber Triple Gives Rams Run-Rule over

Farmingdale, N.Y. - A triple by junior shortstop Nicole Farber
(Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot) scored two runs and gave the Rams a 10-2
win in the bottom of the fifth inning to advance to the ECAC Metro
Semifinals on Saturday, May 15th at Ramapo College in Mahwah, N.J.
Sophomore pitcher Hope Zino (Bay
Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore) improved to 14-6 overall with the five
inning victory, allowing just two hits while striking out four with
no walks and no earned runs.
Farmingdale got on the board in the first with an RBI single by
sophomore first baseman Aubrey Walker
(West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon). An RBI double to left center by
sophomore left fielder Rebecca
Richman (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) gave the Rams a 2-0 lead
after two, before Hunter tied the game in the top of the third on
two hits and three errors for a 2-2 score.
In the bottom of the third, Farmingdale scored four runs on
three hits, including RBI singles by freshman third baseman Kristen
Flint (Brentwood, N.Y./Brentwood) and sophomore right fielder
Amanda
Maass (Mastic Beach, N.Y./William Floyd).
The Rams added five more in the bottom of the fifth after an RBI
single by Richman, an RBI single by sophomore center fielder Kaitlin
Keenan (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) and Farber's two RBI's to
give Farmingdale the eight run lead after five innings to end the
game.
The Rams will now travel to Ramapo College for the Semifinal and
Championship rounds, which is a double-elimination format for the
four remaining teams. #1 Ramapo will face #5 Rutgers-Camden at
11:00 a.m. Farmingdale State will face #2 Richard Stockton at 1:00
p.m. The losers of those game will play at 3:00 p.m., while the
winners will square off at 5:00 p.m.
On Sunday, three teams will remain and the losers will face off
at 11:00 a.m. with the Championship game at 1:00 p.m. If necessary,
a second Championship game will be played at 3:00 p.m.
