FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College women's tennis team won its second consecutive match on Tuesday, as the Rams defeated previously once-beaten Baruch College in non-conference play, 5-2.
FSC (3-5) jumped ahead of the Bearcats (5-2) as it won two out of three doubles matches by identical 6-4 scores to earn one point in the team tally. Sophomore

Ana Hernandez (Valley Stream, N.Y.) in the third flight to defeat Baruch's Ruth Kay Madariaga and Mariam Ghanem, before the No. 1 duo of seniors
Natalia Furchel (Manorville, N.Y.) and
Gabriella Loria (Levittown, N.Y.) clinched the doubles point for the Rams by toppling Anusha Yadav and Cindy Joyette.
The hosts won four of the final five singles matches to capture the victory over the Bearcats, beginning with Loria's 6-4, 6-2 decision in the third flight over Doyeong Lee. Freshman
Emma Johannsen (Verplanck, N.Y.) was next into the scorebook with 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 triumph at No. 5 over Eveline Aleksandrov, before sophomore
Kaelin Burnett (East Islip, N.Y.) clinched the match for the Rams with a 7-6 (7-4), 3-6, 6-3 win over Joyette at the second slot. Furchel captured a three-set victory in the top flight, pushing past Yadav by scores of 6-4, 6-7 (1-7) and 6-3.
Farmingdale State rounds out its homestand on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m., when it plays host to Skyline Conference opponent Mount Saint Mary College.
