Sarah Rende (Wantagh, N.Y.) became the all-time career assists leader for the Farmingdale State College women's volleyball team on Tuesday night, as she handed out 46 assists in the Rams' 3-1, non-conference victory at Hunter College.
Rende now has 2,156 assists in her illustrious career at FSC (3-1), surpassing the previous school record of 2,148 that was held by Megan Pisciotta (2012-15). Rende's record-setting assist came on a kill by junior outside hitter
Samantha Russo (Bay Shore, N.Y.) on a play that gave the visitors a 12-9 lead in the fourth set over the Hawks (0-2).
Hunter captured the first set in extra time, but not before Farmingdale State rallied from a 15-4 deficit to level the score, 24-24, on a kill by junior right side

The Rams tied the match at 1-1, as they hit a scorching .556 (16-1-27) in the second set. Included in that mark was a perfect seven kills in as many swings from Wandmacher, who led all players on the evening with a career-high 16 kills and 18 points.
FSC pulled away from an 18-18 tie in the third set by scoring seven of the last 10 points, a spread that included aces from Rende and sophomore
Asia Perkes (Laurel, Md.) as well as a kill from Russo.
Neither team led by more than four points in the fourth and final set, with the Rams breaking a 25-all tie with kills by Russo and junior
Mackenzie Marquardt (Centereach, N.Y.) to capture the victory.
Russo (12 kills, five aces) and Marquardt (career-high-tying 10 kills) joined Wandmacher (.294 hitting pct., two service aces, seven digs) with double-digit kills totals on the evening, while Perkes (5-0-10, two aces) and sophomore middle
Alyssa Conzatti (Whitestone, N.Y.) chipped in with five kills apiece. Rende's four points at the service line led all players, as FSC registered 16 aces versus the Hawks. Senior defensive specialist
Allison Salinas (Glen Cove, N.Y.) passed a match-best 20 digs in the back row, setting a new career-high mark in the process.
Farmingdale State is back in road non-conference action on Thursday night, when they face Brooklyn College in a 6 p.m. start.
