Lucca Noboa (Freeport, N.Y.) recorded five points on one goal and three assists, tying the Farmingdale State men's soccer single-game record for most assists, as the Rams cruised to a 5-0 victory over CCNY on Friday afternoon.Â
FSC (1-3-1) took an early 1-0 lead in the fifth minute. Sophomore forward
Jeronimo Moran (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) capitalized on a CCNY goalkeeper turnover, scoring from outside the penalty area into the open net after the feed from Noboa.
The Rams doubled their advantage in the 11th minute when sophomore forward
Josue Corea (Wyandanch, N.Y.) finished an eight-yard shot into the lower-right corner following a cross from Noboa.
Noboa then got in on the scoring himself in the 19th minute after receiving a pass from midfielders
Sebastian Cuenca (East Rockaway, N.Y.) andÂ
Carlos Hernandez (Dix Hills, N.Y.). He found the lower-right corner from 15 yards out to make it a 3-0 game.
The Rams added one more before halftime in the 44th minute. Junior forward
Roobens Celine (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) headed home a cross that was played to the right post, with junior forward
Julian Dicecco (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) and Noboa credited with the assists.
FSC continued to control the match in the second half, with Cuenca adding his first goal of the season in the 62nd minute. He volleyed a shot from 15 yards out over the goalkeeper and into the top-right corner to give the Rams a 5-0 lead.
Farmingdale State finished with a 21-14 advantage in shots and an 8-4 edge in corner kicks. Sophomore goalkeeper
Vas Dallas (Garden City South, N.Y.) made one save over 79 minutes before junior goalkeeper
Andrew Verdugo (East Elmhurst, N.Y.) closed out the final 11 minutes.
Noboa finished with a team-high five shots, including two on goal, while Cuenca registered three shots and two shots on target. Corea and Moran each scored, while Celine added his first goal of the season.
Farmingdale State is right back in action tomorrow, Saturday, September 12th, when they travel to The College of New Jersey for a non-conference match at 3:00 p.m.
