Farmingdale State answered just over a minute later when junior attack Carly Livingston (Farmingdale, N.Y.) converted a pass from sophomore midfielder Rylee Valenzano (Centereach, N.Y.) to tie the game at 4-4. The Rams then took their first lead of the contest at 4:39, as senior attack Jordyn Neu (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) capitalized on a man-up opportunity. Livingston added an unassisted goal with 1:33 to play in the third to give FSC a 6-4 advantage heading into the fourth.
Mount Saint Mary mounted a comeback in the final quarter, scoring three straight goals to take a 7-6 lead with 3:48 remaining. Sohm then delivered the equalizer on a free-position goal with 1:27 left in regulation to knot the score at 7-7 and force overtime.
In OT, the Knights won the opening draw control but quickly turned the ball over. The Rams cleared the ball before Livingston drove to the net and had her shot stopped. Sohm picked up the ground ball and scored the game-winning goal to give Farmingdale State the 8-7 victory.
