FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College men's tennis team picked up its third consecutive victory on Monday afternoon, as the Rams defeated John Jay College in non-conference action, 7-0.
FSC (9-7) dropped just six games combined on the day versus the Bloodhounds (2-7), and used 12 players across the afternoon. The Rams went ahead 1-0 after sweeping all three doubles matches, including a 6-0 shutout at the No. 2 slot by junior
Myles Freelin (Islip, N.Y.) and freshman
Broc Brown (Lindenhurst, N.Y.), as well as a blanking in the third flight by the tandem of sophomore Aiden Keane (Holbrook, N.Y.) and freshman
Matias Barzola (Central Islip, N.Y.). Rounding out the doubles sweep was a 6-3 victory in the top flight from freshman
Luke Plana (Bohemia, N.Y.) and junior
Emil Sabovic (Bohemia, N.Y.).
Farmingdale State received three 10-0 victories in pro-set singles play from its third-through-fifth flights by junior
Danial Zindani (Walden, N.Y.), sophomore Jordan Gonzalez (Central Islip, N.Y.) and classmate
Jake Pepitone (Carle Place, N.Y.), respectively. Rounding out the day's results were 10-1 decisions from top-flight junior
Kwaku Agyeman (Middletown, N.Y.), freshman
Henri Pothier (Montgomery, N.Y.) in the second position, and freshman
Grant Larwood (North Massapequa, N.Y.) at No. 6.
The Rams return to Skyline Conference play on Wednesday (April 22), when they travel to Bronxville, N.Y., for a 6 p.m. first serve at Sarah Lawrence College.
