FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State softball team swept a Skyline Conference doubleheader versus Mount Saint Vincent on Sunday afternoon at home, winning both games in five innings by scores of 12-0 and 13-0. With the wins, the Rams improved to 12-10 overall and 6-0 in conference action.

In game one, the Rams scored eight runs in the bottom of the first inning. Junior first baseman Madison Sturtz (East Islip, N.Y.) opened the rally with a double and later scored, while junior Bailey Hammock (Port Jervis, N.Y.) added an RBI single. Eight different Rams had an RBI in the inning as they capitalized on several Mount Saint Vincent errors.

FSC added three more runs in the second inning as sophomore shortstop Natalie McMichael (Smithtown, N.Y.) and junior pitcher Madison DeMaio (Elmont, N.Y.) delivered RBI singles.

The Rams closed out the scoring in the fourth inning when freshman Emily Lopez (Miller Place, N.Y.) produced an RBI ground out.

Sophomore left fielder Nikole Galgano (Levittown, N.Y.) led FSC with three hits, three runs scored and three stolen bases in the 12-0 victory. DeMaio had two hits, two RBI's and one run scored, while junior right fielder Isabella Marchini (Hicksville, N.Y.) recorded two hits, a double and one run batted in.

In the circle, DeMaio (9-4) earned the win after allowing just four hits and striking out four over four scoreless innings. Freshman Kiara Kegel (Massapequa, N.Y.) tossed a scoreless fifth inning in relief to complete the shutout.

In game two, FSC scored once in the first inning before breaking through with seven runs in the second. Junior designated player Samantha Stolfi (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) highlighted the inning with a bases-clearing double, while McMichael tallied a two-run single and both Marchini and Hammock added RBI singles.

Farmingdale State added three runs in the third and two more in the fourth as they went on for the 13-0 win.

Stolfi finished 3-for-4 with three RBI's and a run scored, while Hammock, Lopez, Galgano and McMichael had two hits apiece.

Kegel (3-6) earned the victory on the mound after tossing 4.2 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and striking out a career-high seven.
