FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College women's lacrosse team celebrated Senior Day on Saturday afternoon, defeating Old Westbury, 19-2, in a Skyline Conference matchup at home. FSC improved to 6-8 overall and 5-1 in Skyline Conference play with the victory

Prior to the game, the Rams honored seniors Krystal Sulin (Nesconset, N.Y.), Molly Espey (West Hempstead, N.Y.), Kailee Coppola (Levittown, N.Y.), Jordyn Neu (New Hyde Park, N.Y.), Dayana Gonzalez (Brentwood, N.Y.), Emily Sohm (Seaford, N.Y.), and Shyann Parker (Floral Park, N.Y.) for their dedication and contributions to the program.

The Rams took control quickly scoring seven unanswered goals in the opening quarter. Coppola opened the scoring at the 13:46 mark off a feed from Espey before Sulin doubled the lead less than four minutes later. Espey then scored twice in a span of 59 seconds, both assisted by Sohm, as FSC quickly built a 4-0 advantage.

Sohm added a goal before Neu found the back of the net on a feed from Espey to make it 6-0. Coppola capped the first-quarter scoring with her second goal of the game to give the Rams a 7-0 lead after one.

Farmingdale State outscored the Panthers, 6-1, in the second quarter to build a 13-1 halftime advantage. Coppola recorded her third goal of the contest early in the frame before junior attack Carly Livingston (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and Neu each scored to push the lead to double digits. After Old Westbury got on the board midway through the quarter, the Rams responded with goals from Espey, Rylee Valenzano (Centereach, N.Y.), and Livingston to make it 13-1.

The Rams added three more goals in the third quarter, including a pair from Livingston and another from Valenzano, extending the lead to 16-2 heading into the final period.

In the fourth quarter, Parker scored her first goal of the season before Livingston and Espey each added another to seal the 19-2 victory.

Espey led FSC with a career-high five goals and five assists, while Livingston totaled four goals and three assists. Coppola added three goals and four assists for seven points, while Valenzano and Neu each recorded two goals. Sohm contributed one goal and three assists, while Sulin and Parker each added a goal.

In net, junior Giavanna Stamatelo (Levittown, N.Y.) earned the win after making two saves in 45 minutes of action, while freshman Britney Barbareno (Bronx, N.Y.) played the final 15 minutes of the contest.

Farmingdale State will next travel to Purchase College for a Skyline Conference contest on Wednesday, April 15th at 6:00 p.m. The game will also serve as a Morgan's Message game for mental health awareness.
