NEW HAVEN, Conn. | The Farmingdale State College men's and women's track and field teams both notched top-10 finishes Friday at the Wilton Wright Invitational, with the men's squad placing seventh (36 points), while the women's side collected 10 points to place ninth.
Men's freshman
Christian Destine (Rosedale, N.Y.) and junior
Adonias Mercado (Hillsdale, N.Y.) finished second in the triple jump (personal-record 13.70 meters) and shot put (15.66m), respectively, while sophomore
Xavier Myers (West Babylon, N.Y.) registered a career-best mark of 45.89m in the discus to place fourth. Junior runner
Gabriel Aguilar (Levittown, N.Y.) earned individual points with a fifth-place time of 10:21.86 in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, along with his eighth-place, 16:45.49 showing in the 5,000 meter run.Â
FSC's women's team garnered third-place points in the 4x400 relay, as the quartet of freshman

Amelia Vitale (Hauppauge, N.Y.) posted a time of 4:38.46. Senior
Olivia Finnegan (Massapequa, N.Y.) notched a sixth-place mark of 10.23 meters in the triple jump, while Vitale finished eighth in the 800 meter run (2:37.96).
Farmingdale State is back in action on Sunday at 1 p.m., when it competes in the Mount Saint Mary College Invitational in Cornwall, N.Y.
