OSWEGO, N.Y. | After tying the game in the final minute of play on Saturday afternoon, the Farmingdale State College men's lacrosse team fell at Oswego State, 14-13, as the Lakers scored the game-winning goal with 25 seconds to go.
The teams played to a 4-4 score after one period of play, with the Rams (5-2) receiving one goal apiece from seniors
Casey Fortunato (Northport, N.Y.),
Amir Slaughter (North Babylon, N.Y.) and
Tommy Mai (Islip, N.Y.), and junior
Joey Forchelli (Seaford, N.Y.). FSC then outscored Oswego State (7-1) 6-0 in the second quarter behind three more goals from Forchelli, as the visitors carried a 10-4 lead into the halftime break.
The Lakers pulled even at 11-11 with a 7-1 spurt in the third quarter of action, with Farmingdale State's goal coming at the 10:00 mark from junior attackman
Adam Giovinco (Syosset, N.Y.). Oswego State pushed ahead 13-11 with a pair of scores in the first seven minutes of the fourth quarter, before the Rams mounted a comeback to tie things up at 13-all. Freshman
