Emily Sohm (Seaford, N.Y.) scored a career-high seven goals, including the game-winner with 1:37 remaining, to lead the Farmingdale State women's lacrosse team to a 14-13 non-conference victory over Ramapo on Wednesday evening. The Rams improved to 1-3 on the season, while the Roadrunners fell to 2-2.

Farmingdale State trailed 3-0 after the first quarter and got on the board early in the second when Sohm scored unassisted, marking her 100th career point.

After Ramapo extended its lead to 5-1, Sohm scored again off a pass from senior midfielder
Kailee Coppola (Levittown, N.Y.) with 7:12 remaining in the half. Sohm then completed a hat trick, assisted by senior attacker
Jordyn Neu (New Hyde Park, N.Y.), to close within two at 5-3.

The Roadrunners responded late in the half and took a 9-3 lead into the break.

The Rams chipped away in the third quarter as Sohm scored unassisted at the 13:51 mark. After Ramapo answered with a goal, Coppola scored off a feed from junior attack
Carly Livingston (Farmingdale, N.Y.) before Sohm added another tally to cut the deficit to 10-6.

Livingston then scored an unassisted goal before senior midfielder
Molly Espey (West Hempstead, N.Y.) found the back of the net off a Livingston assist with 1:07 remaining in the quarter to make it an 11-8 game heading into the fourth. The assist marked Livingston's 100th career assist.

Farmingdale State continued their run into the fourth quarter as Coppola scored twice, including a man-down goal, to pull the Rams within one at 11-10. After Ramapo pushed the lead back to two, Sohm scored man-up off an Espey assist with 11:34 on the clock.

Neu tied the contest at 12-12 with 9:37 left after finishing a pass from Livingston. Ramapo answered to regain the lead at 13-12 before sophomore midfielder
Rylee Valenzano (Centereach, N.Y.) converted on a man-up opportunity with 4:10 remaining to tie the game once again.

Sohm then delivered the decisive goal with 1:37 left to play to give Farmingdale State its first lead of the contest at 14-13. Rams' sophomore defender
Sabrina Middleton (Lake Grove, N.Y.) won the ensuring draw control and FSC held the ball before taking a shot with 28Â seconds remaining. The Roadrunners gained possession but were unable to get a shot off as Farmingdale State went on for the 14-13 come-from-behind victory.

Sohm finished with eight points on seven goals and one assist while adding two ground balls, two draw control, and two caused turnovers. Coppola recorded three goals and two assists in her first game of the season, while Livingston tallied one goal and four assists with five ground balls. Neu and Espey each added one goal and one assist, while Valenzano finished with one goal, four ground balls, and four draw controls.

Rebecca Lohman (Levittown, N.Y.) caused three turnovers in the victory.
The FSC women's lacrosse team next travels to play Stockton in a non-conference matchup on Saturday, March 14th at noon.
