Women's Soccer Wins Skyline Opener vs. Yeshiva

Farmingdale State 11, Yeshiva 0
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | Backed by four goals inside the first six minutes of play Thursday afternoon, the Farmingdale State College women's soccer team opened its home and Skyline Conference slates with an 11-0 victory over visiting Yeshiva University.

FSC (2-1, 1-0 Skyline) opened the scoring 1:44 after the opening whistle when freshman winger Kaitlyn Nunziato (North Babylon, N.Y.) converted a pass from junior Jasmine Liddicoat (Richland, Wash.), before back-to-back goals from senior attacker Alyse Rivera (Manhattan, N.Y.) within 17 seconds of each other.

After Liddicoat's first Rams goal came off assists from freshman Paulina Fonfara (Glen Cove, N.Y.) and senior Abigail Borra (Syosset, N.Y.) in the sixth minute of play, Rivera completed her hat trick at the 12-minute mark.

Farmingdale State took an 8-0 advantage into halftime against the Maccabees (0-3, 0-2), with juniors Julia Rebich (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and Stephanie Alberghine (Medford, N.Y.) sandwiching Fonfara's third goal of the campaign. Freshmen Anastasia Wilson (Farmingdale, N.Y.), Natalia Seminatore (Oceanside, N.Y.) and Averi Thomas (Freeport, N.Y.) all collected their first collegiate assists in the opening 45 minutes of play, while junior Ava Lanza (East Meadow, N.Y.) notched her first assist of the season on Alberghine's tally in the final minute.

Midfielder Abigail Chest (So.; Johnstown, N.Y.) scored a pair of goals early in the second half, before senior Kelsie Feingold (Commack, N.Y.) netted her first collegiate goal in the 61st minute.

Sophomore goalie Sam Richards (Ellicott City, Md.) made one save for FSC, which is next in non-conference action this weekend (Sept. 6-7) at the Drew Fall Festival in Madison, N.J. The Rams open against the host Rangers on Saturday at noon, before taking on Stockton University the following afternoon at 2:30.
