Men's Soccer Ties St. Joseph's-Brooklyn in Skyline Opener

Farmingdale State 2, St. Joseph's-Brooklyn 2
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College men's soccer team opened its Skyline Conference schedule at home on Saturday afternoon, playing St. Joseph's-Brooklyn to a 2-2 draw.

Junior midfielder Christian Russo (Franklin Square, N.Y.) put FSC (1-4-1, 0-0-1 Skyline) ahead 2-0, firing home a penalty kick after he was fouled inside the box 19 minutes in before adding his second of the day from close range of a failed clearance from the Bears (0-4-1, 0-0-1) 14 minutes later.

St. Joseph's cut its deficit in half six minutes before halftime, before leveling the score off a defensive deflection from the Rams with 13 minutes to go.

FSC held a 23-10 advantage in shots on the afternoon, including a 10-3 edge in shots on target. Farmingdale State is back in Skyline action next Saturday (Sept. 20) in a 3 p.m. kickoff at Sarah Lawrence College.
