Farmingdale State 1, Sarah Lawrence 1
YONKERS, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College men's soccer team picked up its second tie in as many Skyline Conference games, as the Rams finished Saturday afternoon's match at Sarah Lawrence College in a 1-1 draw.
The host Gryphons (3-2-3, 0-0-1 Skyline) went ahead less than five minutes after opening kickoff, getting on the scoreboard with a headed goal following a corner kick.
FSC (1-4-2, 0-0-2) held a 22-7 edge in shots versus Sarah Lawrence, including an 8-2 count in the first half, but were unable to level the score before halftime. However, freshman attacker
Josue Granados (Brentwood, N.Y.) took less than three minutes after the resumption of play to pull the Rams level. The rookie had an initial shot from the right side of the penalty area saved by the Gryphons' goalkeeper in the 48th minute, before he slotted home his own rebound from 10 yards away to pick up his second goal of the season.
Farmingdale State senior keeper
Rocco Dispinseri (Dix Hills, N.Y.) made three saves on the afternoon, including a stop with 3:36 remaining, to help his team to remain unbeaten in its last three outings (1-0-2). The Rams are next in action Monday night (Sept. 22), when they travel to face Division I foe Stony Brook University at 6.
