DeMaio Tallies 20th Win in Sweep at Sarah Lawrence

Game 1: Farmingdale State 13, Sarah Lawrence 1 (5 inn.)
Game 2: Farmingdale State 12, Sarah Lawrence 0 (5 inn.)
BRONXVILLE, N.Y. | Farmingdale State freshman pitcher Madison DeMaio (Elmont, N.Y.) earned a pair of victories on Saturday at Sarah Lawrence College, increasing her win total to 20 this season. She has now tied FSC Hall of Famer, Hope Zino (2011), for the highest win total in a single-season in program history. DeMaio guided the Rams to a pair of run-rule victories, 13-1 and 12-0, including a combined no-hitter in game two.

The Rams conclude their regular season schedule with a record of 26-14 and 15-3 in conference play. They have earned a bye into next week's four-team double-elimination portion of the Skyline Conference Championship.

Game 1

The Rams recorded an eight-run second inning, highlighted by a bases-clearing double by sophomore third baseman Bailey Hammock (Port Jervis, N.Y.), en route to the 13-1 victory.

Freshman catcher Hailey Cannon (Forest Hills, N.Y.) led the team with three hits, a walk, two RBI's and three runs scored. Sophomore center fielder Ashley Toro (Islip, N.Y.) contributed two hits, a double, two RBI's and one run scored, while senior left fielder Anna Gibbons (East Northport, N.Y.) chipped in with one hit, a stolen base and two runs batted in.

Farmingdale State drew 14 walks in the game, the third highest mark in program history.

DeMaio earned the win after throwing three innings and striking out seven batters. Junior Nicole Echevarria (Bayport, N.Y.) tossed two perfect innings in relief with three punch outs.

Game 2

In game two, DeMaio (W, 20-7, 3.0 IP, 5 SO) and Echevarria (2.0 IP, 1 SO) combined to throw a no-hitter in the 12-0 win. This is the first no-hitter since Ava Shorr achieved the feat versus Purchase last season.

Hammock finished with two hits, two RBI's and two runs scored, while sophomore first baseman Madison Sturtz (East Islip, N.Y.) added two hits and two runs batted in. Sophomore right fielder Isabella Marchini (Hicksville, N.Y.) tallied her first collegiate home run and ended with two RBI's in the victory.
