FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The FSC baseball team dropped a pair of Skyline Conference games to first-place Merchant Marine on Saturday. The Rams fell, 6-4, in game one and 11-4 in the second game.
It was Senior Day at Farmingdale State as a ceremony was held to honor 11 seniors playing in their final regular season home games:

Matthew Flood (Islip, N.Y.),
Jeromy Poveda (Hicksville, N.Y.),
Justin DiMartino (Bethpage, N.Y.),
Michael Camardi (Syosset, N.Y.),
Johnny Dougherty (Kings Park, N.Y.),
Chris McGuggart (Bethpage, N.Y.),
Justin Porrino (Locust Valley, N.Y.),
Tyler DiRocco (Commack, N.Y.),
Roman Dorosh (Holbrook, N.Y.) and
Jordan Lambert (Plainview, N.Y.).
Game 1
FSC trailed 2-0 in the fifth when Flood tallied a pinch-hit double, moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by junior second baseman
Christian Villacci (Smithtown, N.Y.), and scored on a sacrifice fly by sophomore left fielder
Ryan Tam (Wantagh, N.Y.) to make it a 2-1 game.
The Mariners responded with a two-out rally in the sixth, scoring four runs to jump in front, 6-1. In the bottom half of the inning, DiRocco recorded an RBI double before DiMartino and Villacci each produced RBI ground outs to close the gap to 6-4.
Junior center fielder
Richie Heyder (Holbrook, N.Y.) led off the bottom of the seventh with a single to bring the tying run to the plate, but Merchant Marine closer Caden Pierce got the next three batters out to earn his sixth save of the season.
DiRocco ended with two hits, an RBI and one run scored, while Heyder produced two hits in the 6-4 loss.
Game 2
The Mariners came out quick in game two, building an 8-0 lead by the fifth inning.
Farmingdale State was down 8-1 and cut their deficit to just four after an RBI single by sophomore second baseman
Aiden Mehmel (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) and a two-run double from DiMartino.
Merchant Marine added two runs in the eighth and one more in the ninth as they went on for the 11-4 victory.

Tyler Diez (Levittown, N.Y.) had two hits apiece for FSC in defeat.
The Rams will wrap up their regular season schedule with a road doubleheader versus Yeshiva University on Sunday at noon. The games will be played at Breslin Field in Lyndhurst, New Jersey.
