Baseball Drops Non-Conference Game at Stevens

HOBOKEN, N.J. | The FSC baseball team saw its four-game winning streak come to an end Thursday evening, falling to Stevens Institute of Technology, 19-2.

The Ducks (14-9) took an early lead in the second inning on a two-run home run to right center.

The game remained 2-0 until the fourth inning when Farmingdale State (9-7) senior second baseman Chris McGuggart (Bethpage, N.Y.) cut the Rams' deficit in half with a solo home run.

Stevens responded in the bottom of the fourth, scoring three runs to jump ahead, 5-1. They used a seven-run fifth en route to the 19-2 non-conference victory..

McGuggart, freshman shortstop Kaolis Delacruz (Levittown, N.Y.) and junior catcher Ryan Plocker (Dix Hills, N.Y.) each had one hit in the loss.

Farmingdale State pitchers Derek Torres (Massapequa, N.Y. - 1.0 IP), Michael Camardi (Syosset, N.Y. - 0.1 IP, 1 SO) and Greg Friedman (Wading River, N.Y. - 0.2 IP) posted scoreless outings for FSC.

The Rams will return to Skyline Conference action on Saturday when they host Mount Saint Mary College for a doubleheader at 1:00 p.m. Game one was originally scheduled to begin at noon but has been pushed back due to forecasted weather conditions.
