FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College softball team earned a pair Skyline victories at Mount Saint Mary College on Wednesday afternoon to improve to a perfect 10-0 in conference play this season. The Rams won game one by an 8-0 score before taking the second game 14-1.

Game 1

FSC (20-10) tallied the opening run in the top of the first inning after sophomore third baseman Bailey Hammock (Port Jervis, N.Y.) singled and came all the way around to score on a pair of Knights (6-18, 3-5 Skyline) errors.

The Rams added a pair of runs in the third on back-to-back errors by Mount Saint Mary to go ahead, 3-0.

In the fourth, singles by Madison Sturtz (East Islip, N.Y.), Kaysee Mojo (Riverhead, N.Y.), and Nikole Galgano (Levittown, N.Y.) followed by an RBI ground out by freshman pitcher Madison DeMaio (Elmont, N.Y.) put FSC in front by four.

Hammock led off the fifth with a double before junior designated player Samantha Stolfi (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) walked. Sturtz batted next and recorded an RBI single to go up, 5-0. Two batters later, Mojo tallied an RBI fielder's choice. Farmingdale State added two more runs on an error as they took an 8-0 advantage.

DeMaio (W, 13-5, 5.0 IP, 0 R, 9 SO) tossed a perfect 1-2-3 bottom of the fifth, including a pair of strike outs, to secure the 8-0 run-rule win.

Hammock led the Rams with two hits, a walk and three runs scored, while both Sturtz and Galgano had two hits apiece.

Game 2

In game two, the Rams led 5-1 and used a nine-run sixth inning to earn the 14-1 win.

Farmingdale State produced two runs in the second inning after Sturtz doubled and scored on a triple by sophomore right fielder Isabella Marchini (Hicksville, N.Y.). The next batter was Mojo, and she tallied a sacrifice bunt to score Marchini.

FSC increased their lead to five in the fifth as Mojo singled and later scored on an error, Hammock registered an RBI sacrifice bunt, and sophomore center fielder Ashley Toro (Islip, N.Y.) scored on a wild pitch.

In the nine-run sixth inning, Stolfi led off with a base hit, Sturtz walked and Marchini tallied an RBI single to give the Rams a 6-1 lead. After scoring a pair of runs on errors, FSC used RBI's from Toro, Hammock, Stolfi and Sturtz as they took a commanding nine-run lead. The rally was capped off by a two-run double by Marchini as they went on for the 14-1 victory.

Marchini finished with three hits, one run and four runs batted in as she was just a home run shy of the cycle. Sturtz had three hits, including a double, a walk, RBI and three runs scored. Hammock chipped in with a hit and two runs batted in, while Stolfi contributed a pair of hits.

DeMaio (W, 14-5, 4.0 IP, 1 H, 6 SO) earned her 14th win of the season as she tallied six strike outs over four scoreless innings pitched.

The Rams will next play host to St. Joseph's-Long Island for a conference doubleheader. Due to forecasted inclement weather, the games will take place Friday at 4 p.m.
