Farmingdale State 7, Hunter 0
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State College men's tennis team rolled to their sixth consecutive victory on Wednesday afternoon, defeating non-conference opponent Hunter College, 7-0. The Rams have now won their first five matches of the spring season, following a win in their final fall match against Brooklyn College on October 15.

FSC (8-2) won all three doubles, with sophomores Emil Sabovic (Bohemia, N.Y.) and Kwaku Agyeman (Middletown, N.Y.) cruising to a 6-1 win in the second match. The top pairing of senior Muhammad Sawar (Brentwood, N.Y.) and junior Ryan Hendel (Merrick, N.Y.) and third duo of freshman Daniel Barnes (Massapequa, N.Y.) and sophomore Luke Mun (Carle Place, N.Y.) picked up matching 6-3 victories.

The Rams quickly clinched the match as freshman Michael Lerman (Massapequa, N.Y.), sophomore Myles Freelin (Islip, N.Y.) and freshman Jordan Gonzalez (Central Islip, N.Y.) earned 6-0, 6-0 wins in the fourth through sixth singles matches.

Freshman Zakaria Ahmed (Manhasset, N.Y.) and Hendel dropped just two games apiece in their second and third singles matches, respectively. Senior Alan Sabovic (Bohemia, N.Y.) wrapped up the 7-0 shutout with a 6-2, 6-1 win in the top-flight match.

Farmingdale State is next scheduled to play Skyline Conference opponent Purchase College on Saturday morning. The Rams' home match against Yeshiva University, originally scheduled for Thursday, has been postponed and will now take place on Monday (Apr 7) at 4:00 p.m.
