Erler Named East-Comm Athlete of the Month for March

The Eastern Athletic Communications Association (EAST-COMM) announced its March Athletes of the Month on Thursday afternoon, and Farmingdale State College men's lacrosse goalkeeper Dan Erler (Smithtown, N.Y.) earned the men's honor.

EAST-COMM recognizes one male and one female student-athlete from its member institutions each month. Sports Information Directors of EAST-COMM member schools were able to nominate one student-athlete from their respective institutions following exceptional athletic performances during the month.

Erler was dominant in net for the Rams in March, helping lead the team to a perfect 7-0 record for the month. He recorded a .598 save percentage, 7.57 goals against average, and made 76 saves.

Erler currently leads the Skyline Conference and ranks 25th in the Nation for goals against average this season (8.50). He also ranks 42nd in Division III with a .571 save percentage. His outstanding play earned him three Skyline Conference Defensive Player of the Week awards in March.

The Rams remain undefeated against Division III opponents and hold a 10-2 overall record this season. In the most recent regional rankings, Farmingdale State is ranked fourth in Region II, behind only RIT, RPI, and Cortland.
