Men's Lacrosse Defeats Marywood For Eighth Consecutive Win

Farmingdale State - 13, Marywood - 5
SCRANTON, Penn. | The Farmingdale State men's lacrosse team extended its winning streak to eight games with a 13-5 victory at Marywood University on Friday afternoon. This marks the second-longest winning streak in program history, behind only the nine-game stretch in 2023. The Rams (8-2) commence Skyline Conference play next Friday (April 4) against St. Joseph's-Long Island.

After both teams scored one goal in the opening quarter, Farmingdale State rattled off three consecutive scores in the second to jump ahead, 4-1. Senior Thomas Stock (Selden, N.Y.) kicked off the second quarter scoring just 47 seconds in. He followed that up with an assist on a man-up goal by classmate Thomas Mai (Islip, N.Y.). Junior Kamryn Gill (Riverhead, N.Y.) then added an unassisted goal, putting the Rams in front, 4-1.

FSC maintained a three-goal advantage, 5-2, and scored the only two goals of the third quarter, extending their lead to 7-2 heading into the final 15 minutes.

Stock netted his second goal of the game just 42 seconds into the fourth quarter before Marywood (5-6) responded quickly with a goal of their own. From there, the Rams pulled away with two goals from senior Andrew Giovinco (Syosset, N.Y.) and one from junior Amir Slaughter (North Babylon, N.Y.) to go up, 11-3, with eight minutes remaining.

Farmingdale State added late goals from senior midfielder Tyler Kollar (Bellport, N.Y.) and sophomore attack Adam Giovinco (Syosset, N.Y.) to seal the 13-5 non-conference victory.

Stock finished with two goals and two assists for a game-high four points. The program's all-time leading scorer has registered 4+ points in four of the last five contests. Gill contributed three goals, while Andrew Giovinco (2g, 1a), Adam Giovinco (1g, 2a) and Slaughter (1g, 2a) each tallied three points. Senior Antonio Kaminskey (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) went 10-for-16 on faceoffs and picked up a game-high seven ground balls.

Sophomore Joseph Bleck (Farmingdale, N.Y.) led the FSC defense with four ground balls and a career-high four caused turnovers, while senior goalkeeper Dan Erler (Smithtown, N.Y.) stopped nine of 14 shots on goal.

Farmingdale State will open their Conference schedule next Friday with a home game versus St. Joseph's-Long Island at 4:00 p.m. Prior to the game, the Rams will honor Assistant Coaches Terrence Haggerty and Jake Wandle for their careers at FSC with a jersey induction into the program's Ring of Honor.
