Eleven-Goal Spurt Paces Men's Lacrosse Win Over FDU-Florham

Farmingdale State 14, FDU-Florham 7
MADISON, N.J. | Trailing 4-3 just one minute into second period on Wednesday night, the Farmingdale State College men's lacrosse team responded with 11-consecutive goals on its way to a decisive 14-7 victory at Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham.

The Rams (7-2) remain undefeated against Division III competition so far this spring, and kept the Devils (6-2) off the scoresheet for a span of 38:15 during the game-changing run.

The teams were tied 3-3 after one period of play, with seniors Thomas Stock (Selden, N.Y.) and Tyler Kollar (Bellport, N.Y.) and sophomore Adam Giovinco (Syosset, N.Y.) picking up goals for FSC over the first 15 minutes of action. After FDU went ahead 53 seconds into the second quarter, Farmingdale State received scores from junior Kamryn Gill (Riverhead, N.Y.) and Stock at the 12:30 and 6:32 marks, respectively, to start the decisive run and give the visitors a 5-4 halftime edge.

FSC scored all five goals of the third period, as Stock completed his hat trick at 9:19, before Kollar finished off his three-goal output with a man-down score at 9:31 of the fourth quarter. The Rams extended their lead to a 14-4 margin with 5:52 on the clock, when freshman defender Logan Reese (West Islip, N.Y.) registered his first-collegiate goal in transition off a pass from Giovinco.

Stock passed out three assists to finish with a game-high six points, while Giovinco (g, 2a) and Gill (2g, a) tallied three points apiece. Adam's brother, senior Andrew Giovinco (Syosset, N.Y.), as well as senior Thomas Mai (Islip, N.Y.), both bagged two goals in the victory. Senior Antonio Kaminskey (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) was instrumental in the possession game for the Rams, as he went 15-of-21 (.714) on faceoffs to go with a game-high ground balls, with senior goalkeeper Dan Erler (Smithtown, N.Y.) making eight of his 12 saves in the opening half of play to record the victory in the FSC cage.

Farmingdale State rounds out its two-game road swing on Friday afternoon, when it travels to Scranton, Pa., for a 4 p.m. opening face-off at Marywood University.
