Stock Buries Four Goals to Lead Men's Lacrosse to Sixth Straight Win

Farmingdale State - 14, Oswego - 10
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State men's lacrosse team picked up its sixth consecutive win on Saturday afternoon, defeating Oswego State, 14-10, behind four goals from senior attack Thomas Stock (Selden, N.Y.).

The Rams (6-2) kicked off the scoring just 1:40 in as Stock set up senior midfielder Gerardo Maldonado (West Hempstead, N.Y.) for a goal.

The score was knotted at 3-3 late in the first before Stock registered a man-up score off the pass from junior Kamryn Gill (Riverhead, N.Y.).

After the Lakers (3-3) tied the game at 4-4 early in the second, Stock produced a pair of goals in a 3-0 FSC run to give them a 7-4 lead heading into the halftime break.

Stock followed with a man-down score to start play in the third quarter before sophomore attack Adam Giovinco (Syosset, N.Y.) registered a goal to go ahead, 9-4.

Oswego cut their deficit to 12-9 going into the fourth and drew a man-up opportunity, but the Rams forced a turnover, ran out the penalty time and scored to take a 13-9 lead with 11 minutes to play.

Senior attack Kyle Kolano (Babylon, N.Y.) added a goal in the final two minutes as Farmingdale State went on for the 14-10 non-conference victory.

Stock tallied five points on four goals and an assist, while Gill finished with two goals and two assists for four points. Kolano registered three points (1g, 2a) and both Thomas Mai (Islip, N.Y.) and Maldonado had two goals each in the win.

On defense, freshman Logan Reese (West Islip, N.Y.) led the way with four caused turnovers and six ground balls. Sophomore Cole Longo (Lloyd Harbor, N.Y.) recorded two caused turnovers and six GB's, while William Henry (West Islip, N.Y.), Rashad Lawson (Mattituck, N.Y.) and Michael Cassano (Plainview, N.Y.) chipped in with two caused turnovers apiece.

Farmingdale State will next travel to play non-conference opponent FDU-Florham on Wednesday, March 26th at 7:00 p.m.
