Rams Close Florida Trip with Loss to Keiser University

WEST PALM BEACH, FL | The Farmingdale State men's lacrosse team concluded their two-game Florida trip with a 17-8 loss to Keiser University on Sunday afternoon at Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach.

The Seahawks (2-0) set the tone early, scoring five goals in the opening quarter. FSC (0-2) senior attack Thomas Mai (Islip, N.Y.) netted two goals in the first quarter as the Rams found themselves trailing by three.

With the score 7-3 late in the second quarter, Rams' sophomore attack Adam Giovinco (Syosset, N.Y.) assisted senior attack Thomas Stock (Selden, N.Y.) for a goal to cut the Keiser lead to three at halftime.

The Seahawks then tallied seven unanswered goals in the third quarter to push their lead to 14-4.

Farmingdale State trailed 14-6 after three quarters and were outscored 3-2 in the fourth as they fell by a score of 17-8.

Giovinco led Farmingdale State with three goals and one assist, while Stock and Mai each contributed two goals. Junior Kamryn Gill (Riverhead, N.Y.) added a goal and an assist. Defensively, sophomore Sean Lawson (Mattituck, N.Y.) recorded five caused turnovers and four ground balls and senior William Henry (West Islip, N.Y.) registered three CT's. Freshman Tyler June (Farmingdale, N.Y.) chipped in with one caused turnover and three ground balls in the loss.

The Rams will look to bounce back when they travel to Russell Sage College on Wednesday for a 3:00 p.m. matchup.
