Farmingdale State - 90, Ramapo - 75
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | The Farmingdale State men's basketball team cruised to a 90-75 victory over Ramapo College on Saturday afternoon in non-conference play. The Rams improved to 4-1 on the season, while the Roadrunners dropped to 1-4.
After Ramapo tallied the opening basket, FSC went on a 16-2 run, including 3-pointers from guards
Derek Reed (Shinnecock, N.Y.) and
Sean Conroy (Staten Island, N.Y.), to take an early 12-point advantage.
The Roadrunners registered the game's next five points to cut their deficit to seven, but Farmingdale State responded with an 8-0 run, featuring six points from freshman forward
Dylon Stanley (Lynbrook, N.Y.), to take a commanding 24-9 lead midway through the first half.
The Rams led 27-17 before a 3-pointer from senior guard
Robbie Siechen (Syracuse, N.Y.), two free-throws from junior forward
Liam Buckley (Manhasset, N.Y.) and a layup by junior forward
Kentrell Evans (Brooklyn, N.Y.) put FSC ahead, 34-17.
Farmingdale State led by as many as 21 in the first 20 minutes and took a 46-26 lead into the halftime break.
FSC opened the second half on a 6-2 run on 3-pointers by Reed and Buckley. After a Ramapo free-throw, Reed made a layup to put the Rams ahead 54-29.
Farmingdale State still led by 25, 83-58, with four minutes to play and used a
Jacob Roman (Selden, N.Y.) dunk and a 3-pointer by
Dameek Horton (Uniondale, N.Y.) to take their largest lead of the game, 88-58.
Ramapo outscored FSC 17-2 in the final minutes, but FSC went on for the 90-75 victory.
Stanley was a perfect 8-for-8 from the field for a team-high 16 points, while sophomore guard
Jordan Tucker (Elmont, N.Y.) recorded 15 points and six rebounds off the bench. Conroy produced 11 points, seven assists, three rebounds and a block and Buckley finished with 11 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Evans tallied 10 points and six rebounds, Reed contributed nine points and four assists, and senior guard
Michael Notias (Manhasset, N.Y.) added eight points and two blocked shots in the win.
The Rams will next play host to 13th-ranked Wesleyan University on Saturday, November 29th at 1 p.m.
